Affiliate disclosure

Pack & Passport earns commission when you buy through links on this site, at no extra cost to you. That is how the site is funded. This page sets out exactly how it works, what it does not influence, and what we will not do.

The Amazon Associates statement

Pack & Passport is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

In plain terms: if you click a link here, go to Amazon and buy something, Amazon pays us a small percentage. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid without the link. The commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not out of your pocket.

How the links work

Every product link on this site routes through our own `/go/` address before arriving at the retailer. That lets us keep every link in one place, so a broken or discontinued product can be fixed once rather than hunted for across fifty pages. It is a bookkeeping mechanism, not a tracking one.

Every earning link carries `rel="sponsored nofollow"` in the page markup and opens in a new tab, and every buy button on this site is labeled `#ad` with a link back to this page. If something on this site could earn us money, it is marked.

What commission does not influence

• What we pick. A product is on this site because we think it is the right answer for a particular buyer, not because of what it pays.
• How we rank it. Where a cheaper option is the better buy, it goes at the top. Buyer-first beats commission, and if we ever stop doing that the site is worthless anyway.
• What we say about it. Every pick here carries a named flaw. That is a required field in how these pages are built, so a recommendation cannot ship without one.
• Which retailer we send you to. Amazon is currently the only retailer we link, because it is where this site's readers buy. If a brand's own store is ever clearly better for you, we will say so - including where it earns us nothing.

Why there are no prices on this site

Prices and availability change constantly, and we have no live price feed for this site. Publishing a number that is wrong next week would look authoritative while misleading you, which is worse than publishing nothing.

So every buy link reads "Check price on Amazon" and takes you to the live page. If we get a price feed, prices will appear with a visible date stamp and anything older than 48 hours will disappear rather than sit there going stale. Our methodology page covers this in more detail.

What we do not do

• No paid placement. Nobody can buy a position on this site.
• No sponsored posts presented as editorial. If we ever publish sponsored content it will be labeled unmistakably, and it will not be a product roundup.
• No free samples. We do not accept them, which also means we do not claim to have tested what we would have received.
• No fabricated reviews, ratings or testimonials. We have no first-party ratings and no customer reviews, so we publish none.
• No affiliate links in the airline rules pages' factual content. The size tables and the liquid rules are reference material. The product links on those pages are in clearly separated sections.

What we would tell a friend

The test we apply to every recommendation is whether we would tell a friend with the same trip to buy it. That is not a marketing line - it is the only editorial standard that survives contact with an affiliate model, because the alternative is optimizing for commission and losing the reader.

Sometimes the honest answer is that you do not need the product at all. Packing cubes do not create space. Luggage sets are poor value for most households. Compression bags do nothing for t-shirts. Those pages say so, and they earn less for saying so.
